Generally, over 70% of online searches are
conducted using Google.com and the other 20%+ searches are performed using Yahoo
and Bing. If your website and its
subpages are showing up page 4 or more, your potential prospects
will not find your website. My job
is to make your webpages SEO friendly using SEO white hat search engine
optimization techniques that increases the likelihood that your targeted keyword
phrases will get indexed in the top 30 search return positions.
Denver SEO Techniques That Don't Work Anymore
Some SEO agencies may try tactics that worked
in 2005 but not in 2010. Some of the search engine optimization strategy and
tactics we don't do anymore are:
1. Putting search engines before your website users – I don’t stuff
webpage's with a gazillion keywords. It may work with some search spiders but it
will hurt the online user experience forcing prospects to leave your website for
another one.
2. Link spamming – I don’t go after links
for quantity but for relevant quality.
3. Disregarding link text – Using “click here” or some other repetitious
anchor text link will be a wasted opportunity to get your important keyword
phrases to be indexed by Google, Yahoo and Bing.
4. Not using web metric reports – I provide
monthly SEO performance reports that shows progress against the baseline
metrics.
5. Choosing the wrong keywords – I have seen
some SEO companies guarantee a #1 search position by search engine optimizing
the webpage using some ridiculous keyword phrase that a prospect would never
search for. I've been challenged by clients to rank for a 3 or 4 letter single
keyword (not the company's name) and successfully ranked in the top 10 in
Google.
6. No Universal Search strategy – if you aren’t optimizing for Google Base,
Google Local, online videos, FlickR, image optimization and blog search/mirco
blogs, you are losing business, no doubt about it.
